MagneFlex App Installation

Download the MagneFlex App on the Android/ios device from the App store.

Supported iOS version 13.0 0r higher.

Device Compatability & Requirements:

Andriod Phones and Tablets No Bluetooth — connects directly via port

Device Pairing / Connection

Turn on the device - press/hold power until LED blinks.

Go to Settings > Bluetooth on the iPhone.

Select the reader from the available list (e.g., MagneSafe_123456).

Confirm connection status (should show "Connected").

Open MagneFlex and tap “Select Reader” > choose your device type.

Lightning/USB-C Devices (ex: iDynamo 6):

Plug device directly into iPhone/iPad.

You should see a prompt to allow the accessory — tap “Allow”.

Open MagneFlex and check Settings > Device Info to confirm reader detection.

Required Permissions

When first launching MagneFlex:

Allow Bluetooth Access — for eDynamo/tDynamo pairing.

Allow USB Accessories — for iDynamo 6.

Go to Settings > Privacy & Security if access wasn’t granted.

Enable USB Accessories.

Enable Bluetooth for MagneFlex app.

Reader Connection Workflow

Once installed, launch the application; the app looks as below:

Step 1: Tap on the Admin Menu and select Set Reader option.

Step 2: Choose the reader type from the list on the Device Configuration page based on the Connection Type (ex: Pyhsical Connection, Wireless Device etc.)

Select the Connection Type and the Reader. Here you may choose to set the device as Default.

Step 3: Tap on Save Device Information. You will be redirected to the Device Configuration with the selections being preserved.

The app will initiate discovery or direct communication based on device type.

Device-Specific Connection Flow

Bluetooth Readers (ex: eDynamo, tDynamo):

    Reader must be powered on and in range.

    Ensure it’s already paired in iOS Bluetooth settings.

    Once selected, MagneFlex connects automatically.

    If successful:

    Status in MagneFlex will change to "Connected".

    Device Info (serial number, firmware version) will be available under Settings > Device Info.

Lightning / USB-C Readers (iDynamo 6)

Plug the reader directly into the iPhone.

Tap “Allow” if prompted to trust the device.

No need for Bluetooth pairing.

MagneFlex should auto-detect and display device information.

If not, remove and reinsert the reader, then reopen the app.

Testing the Reader

Note

The Test Reader feature does not apply for non-bluetooth devices (ex: iDynamo 6).
Before testing the Reader, make sure your device is connected via bluetooth.

Step 1: On the App select the Test Reader option under the Admin.

Step 2: Follow prompts to swipe, tap, or insert a test card.

Step 3: Once the reader/device is connected, it will prompt you to swipe/insert the card.

When the user swipes the card, the card data is read and displayed.
